1957 Metropolitan Convertible
My first-ever car. It arrived in primer with accessory fins and leopardskin seat covers and I sanded filler until my fingers bled. It didn't have a roof for a long time. I loved it to bits and took it on the Chelsea Cruise every month.

1964 Volvo 1800S
People remember my Volvo, the Little B'stard, scalloped by hot rodder Scratch. I had to start it with a screwdriver and one of the doors didn't open. Top Gear's Andy Wilman said it was the worst car he'd ever driven.

1941 Chevy lead sled
This 1941 Chevy was transformed into a swoopy lead sled by Gary Janes of the original Low Fliers. I couldn't lift the carson top so always drove it roof-off. I sold to some crazy French hot rodders and missed it badly

I had a series of P6s, partly because they were cheap, but also because I love the way they drive and handle. Even the 200 auto, which the guide books gave just one word: avoid. The 2.2 TC was the best. I had some dodgy old Volvos, too.
Mini One D
Our first new car! To be honest, we were just fed up with sudden bills and wanted something with good fuel consumption. I love the DAB radio, too.

BMW 2002 tii
I loved this car with its Alley Cat alloys on low-profile tyres and a rumpety high-lift cam. It handled like a dream, but rust had eaten the rear spring mounts and the prop disconnected itself on the M25. It had to go.
1994 Mercury Grand Marquis
1995 Eunos Roadster
I've loved MX-5s ever since I drove one in Greece on the European launch in 1990. I adored this Brilliant Black Eunos until the head warped. It's now thrashed around racetracks by Project Merlot. Read more here.
